Wacom Intuos 3 issues.

got this from wacom-europe support

" We are not aware of a problem in ZBrush, but we have seen ‘blobs’ at the
beginning of strokes in some other programs.
We plan to have a closer look and fix it for driver 4.95. Probably this will
help in ZBrush as well. "

Excellent news! Thanks for posting that info! I’ll definitely keep watch on that driver then.

any more info? is the driver update done etc? problems gone?

I was getting this too. I have the little Graphire pad. It would pop and hesitate whenever you first start a stroke. Really annoying. So I stopped using this for about a year. I uninstalled it and put it away and then recently I wanted to use it again. So I plugged it back in and used it without the drivers for awhile. Then I put in the disk that came with it. But that didn’t install the right drivers or something because it still wasn’t working correctly. So I went to the website and installed the newest stuff from there and now… No pop! I don’t know what happened since last year but it works fine now. I have uninstalled a lot of stuff from my PC since I originally got the pop so maybe it was a conflict? Or maybe a mouse drivers conflict? Or maybe you need the new drivers from Wacom? I don’t know. It is very frustrating so keep looking. This seems to be a common problem.

Hello,
I solved this problem on the wacom intuos 3 9X12 I use at work:
Go to tablet properties, Pen area, in the Tip Feel section click the Details button. I’ve changed the threshold to a smaller one (or a higher, I’m not sure and I don’t have the tablet here right now).
It worked for me.

PixelMachine, thx a lot! the pain is finally over :grimacing:

by far, this was the most provoking issue ive ever had in my entire life.

good job :+1:

Did it worked for you too, or I am the only one that got it fixed?

yea it’s working. again, thank u

Did u guys slide it to the left or right? I’m still getting the problem either way.

to the right/ to high

There is fresh driver on Wacom’s site:
http://www.wacom-europe.com/int/downloads/driver/index.asp?lang=en

Anyone have tried it? Any changes?

Excellent. I just tried the latest English (Americas) version of the drivers (4.96-7a), and it seems the pop is completely gone. Finally!

bolba: Thank you for the heads-up…

Chad:
Pleased to hear your report. In anticipation of the pending delivery of my new Intuos 3 today, I just now downloaded the latest driver. The past history in this thread had me worried!

Sven

[edit: For anyone using the Intuos 3 (winxp), the correct driver update is 4.96-7a as mentioned above. Uninstall the earlier driver first and reboot. Tech support set me straight. One other tip: set doubleclick distance to Off. ]

Okay now i have this problem, even though i didnt before.
I’m not using a wacom, i have a cheapo aiptek tablet i’ve gone through all the drivers to no avail.

Unfortunately none of these solutions solved my problem :frowning: It is quite disgusting and heart braking to be honest. Most likely it has nothing to do with zbrush but maybe zbrush can come up with an update to handle it better.

I was still getting issues with this until a co-worker pointed out a feature in the Wacom Tablet properties that I never knew about.

Open up the Wacom Tablet Properties. Then double click the Intuos icon at the top of the window. Select the Recognition Data radio button. (Default is Standard Mode). Then click OK.

That should help you out. It worked for me… so far! lol

It seems like every time I “think” it’s working, the pop always comes back with a vengeance.

Great hint!! That should be a sticky!

PS:The ‘splotch’ while starting is completely GONE… (Lemo petting Wacom Pen… good tablet good tablet…).

Update: Made quickly some Z-treats for that hint

Cool. Glad it helped.

That works perfectly on the Intuous 3. Give your co-worker a hug from me

As for you, well if you had not started this thread I would not have noticed the problem. Hmmm. Oh well, thanks anyway Chad
