Zproject brush not working ?

Hello,

i’m trying to project some détails from a model to a flat polymesh surface, like in this video :

BUT … it doesn’t even seem to work !
i used the move tool to define a source and a target zone, like in the video, then got back to draw mode. rgb is off, zadd is on …
nothing happens.
please, do you have any clue ?

if only Zbrush could invent a 3d clone stamp like in photoshop, simply using “Alt” to define a source, and then transfer détails from an area to another area of the model or even on another model, that would be great…

thank you.

Zbrush 3.1 has no subtools opacity and ghost features, so i suppose that now you don’t need to offset the plane and using of the transpose line as source and destination to base the projection when you apply the Zproject brush.

thank you for this.
but i can’t even use the zproject brush, i’d like to transpose some details from one object to another, aside.
But for now, it transposes absolutely nothing. what am i doing wrong ? is it impossible to transfer some détails of the object on the left, to the object on the right ?

your tool must be at corner of the that object which you want to past on plan…

as in the video you linked there.your tool must be the starting point or at corner of the 3d object to paste on plain surface…
and also convert plain surface to Create polymash 3d and then give it high resolution by hitting Ctrl+D key almost four time…
one more thing first select the plain object than 3d object…

thanks but no, it doesn’t work.

i’ve made a subdivided polymesh plane
i tried with the corner as a starting point.
still nothing happening :zpr.JPG

Hi,

i’m new to ZBrush and tried this too, but it doesn’t work for me either. I really would appreciated if someone can make a short (video) tutorial on how to do this properly with the lastest version of ZBrush.

I really like the bas-relief Artworks from this thread:

http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?185811-Bas-Relief-amp-Other-Works

and would be really happy if i can archive the same results. I tried also to put the object in front of the plane, but this works only
partially and does not catch the complete model.

Stefan

O.k. a larger brush size fixed the problem. Now the projected model is complete. The only thing is one has to switch of frequently the sub tool, to see if the projected mesh is complete.

Greeting to all, zbrush master newb here.
Resurrecting this thread as I came across the same video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX-DiXgN5cc and cannot get the zproject brush to work. The video is from 2009 and the move tool is not the same. Can someone please give an update on how to use the zproject brush using R48?
Much appreciated!
