ZBrush UI questions

I just followed a video tutorial showing how to customize the user interface. It worked fine, but I have three questions:

  1. In the beginning, I docked the Brushes menu/palette to the right side of my window and then I added a lot of brushes to the bottom of the window. Question: How do I get these brushes in the Brush palette and in the “Quick Picks” at the top of the brushes window to go away? (BTW: Before saving the UI) I tried clicking on the little R button in the Brushes palette, but they didn’t go away.

  1. The narrator of the tutorial had a left/right/top/bottom set of buttons that he also added. Does anyone know where these are located in ZBrush so I can add them too? Or is this something that he got elsewhere?

  1. Is there a way to make the canvas always open an fill the window area? I tried making a new document which filled the screen and then saved the UI. But it still reverts to the smaller window when I open ZBrush the next time (as seen in my first screenshot).

  1. I think the only way is to restart ZBrush.

  2. This works in ZBrush 2018 http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161588-quot-Axis-quot-Plugin-for-ZBrush-4r2&p=1063349&viewfull=1#post1063349

  3. In the Document palette, enable “WSize”. This will fit the document to the canvas. Then click “New Document”. Answer no to the dialog that pops up that say’s “Document has been changed. Would you like to save changes”. Then click “Save As Startup Doc” button.

#2 is found under Document: Zapplink Properties

The #1 answer (restart the computer) didn’t work, the brushes are still there - Oh well. But the #2 & #3 answers worked great! I now have a nice wide screen when I start ZBrush and that Axis plugin was just what I was looking for.

Thanks!
