This issue started for me about 3 months ago, and it has been slowly driving me crazy as I’m constantly having to slow myself down and redraw strokes because Zbrush fails to register a smooth falloff at the end of a stroke. As you can see in the images below, the end of the strokes are stair-stepping down in intensity and size instead of creating a smooth falloff. I’m not sculpting very quickly, I’d say I’m probably even on the low end of average in terms of how fast I sculpt, and this issue occurs for me when drawing at even just a moderate pace.
The plane I’m sculpting on in the images is not very high, only 262K polys. I have tried editing the stroke in every way I can think of, both in the brush settings and the stroke palette, I’ve tried using lazy mouse and editing my tablets’ settings. I have also tested out 2 different tablets, an Intuos Pro and a screened XP-Pen, and get the same issue on both inside Zbrush, and my tablet drivers are up to date. The first version I think this happened on was Zbrush 2021, and I still get it in the new Zbrush 2022. Stroke sensitivity and falloff seem to work perfectly fine in other programs I’ve tested like Photoshop.
My PC specs are:
Ryzen 7 2700X
32GB of RAM
Nvidia RTX 3070
Windows 10 Home
