Zbrush missing gizmo move arrows

Hey, everybody! Help me solve the problem. Missing Gizmo movement arrows
2023-09-07_18-06-23

Try going to “Preferences > Gizmo 3D” and click “Reset Gizmo” button.

Thanks for the advice!
But unfortunately it didn’t help. It helps to press “make PolyMesh3d” and then append this subtool back. But then the gizmo arrows disappear again

Hello @Hiropraktic ,

I don’t recognize this problem. If it only happens in a specific file, it may be because of a specific combination of features and settings, or it may be related to problematic content. If it happens with any file you try to use, there could be an issue with your installation.

I recommend contacting Support.

Thank you!

I have the same error after auto upgrading my version of ZBrush to 2023.2.2

The fault is not consistent. First time it happened exiting the software and re-entering was enough to reset the Gizmo until it glitched again. I tried to reset using the same method but it was not a success. The glitch means I can’t access the gizmo arrows nor can I use the “Transform Type” options. If I select the “Transform Type” my selected subtool vanishes completely.

I have tried preferences > Gizmo 3D > Reset Gizmo which did not resolve the issue.

I can still use the traditional transpose line but the work I’m currently doing is far better suited to the “Transform Type” tools.

Hiropraktic did a fresh installation fix the issue and it it stay fixed?

Many thanks for reading

(screen shot: note I have blurred out the model as this is commercial in nature and can not be shared.)

For some reason I only had this effect on one project, I was racing it back and forth from zbrush to blender and other software, this problem pissed me off beyond belief. And it appeared because I took the base mesh from the zbrush set. This one I think. And all manipulations, extrudes and so on were with this mesh. In other projects this effect did not happen. How it was cured, I do not remember. I think that’s how I ended up with this project with these problems2023-10-18_16-53-48

That’s actually really helpful as I did grab the same base mesh for speed… perhaps it is the mesh that’s at fault here…

The gizmo activates on other models… So I tentatively think it might be the issue. Why… who knows but thanks again!

Edit 19/10/2023:

Just for records sake I tried to dynamesh and zremesh the model and it did not stop this extremely irritating issue popping up.

As the model was clothed I chopped the figure into parts and deleted the geometry that wasn’t needed because it was hidden beneath clothing and would not be seen. I then auto grouped, split the parts into separate subtools and dynameshed each of the remaining parts. This appears to have fixed the issue and allowed me to finish the model.
