ZBrush 3.x: graphic card issues on macbookpro

Hi,
I noticed this problem on my macbook pro 2.2 intel duo. When I sculpt in normal edit (not quick 3D edit) all I get are these holes on the mesh; different DSmooth setting doesn’t change anything. It’s only a graphic problem because if I refresh the rendering (moving the tool ie) I see the modified mesh; it’s just the realtime render that seems broken. I just downloaded version 3.2 but the problem is stil there… In quick 3D mode all works well.
This is the graphic card installed (standard): GeForce 8600M GT

Cheers

Are you using the stock drivers, or have you updated to the most current drivers from the nVidia website?

Stock drivers. The machine is up to date but only with standard apple software update.

First off, update to 3.2.

Second, get the most current drivers from nVidia.

Hi Aurick,
thank you for your answer. As I said on my first post the problem is present in version 3.2 too. Then, on mac laptop I can’t update video driver other than Apple software update… Nvidia doesn’t support drivers download for Apple’s Mobile cards.

Another possibility: Are you using a Wacom tablet? If so, update to the most current Wacom drivers. Some people have reported just this sort of issue with older drivers.

Yes, it could be.
I check tis and I’ll let you know.
Thanx

Upgraded wacom to the last driver but the problem is still there…

either 10.5.8 didn’t solve the problem. Did anyone with a 2007 macbook pro recreate that?

Because 3.5 for Mac is going to be real (I think  ) I ask to investigate better on this issue. It seems that snow leopard doesn’t help but now I’m sure it is a software problem, not hardware. I tried the same thing with the same hardware (my MacBook Pro) on windowsXP with bootcamp (I have a 3.1 windows temporary crossgrade version) and there everything works right… So I have no idea where is the bug, probably is the video card driver, but please check if you can.
Cheers

Same problem on win XP 32bits
Nvidia 8800gt

So is not a MacOS related problem but it rather seems a Nvidia issue… It’s strange that using the same video card in win XP with bootcamp the problem disappear…

Is awesome that nobody else report this problem i just tested another graphic card nvidia 8500gt with the most new drivers and the problem still there

Yes it’s strange. Ok it is not a big problem because in quick3D mode you can sculpt quite well but it’s strange that we are the only two people experiencing this problem
