Z Brush and Poser 6

Hi, Everyone

I’m totally new to Z Brush, but have been using Poser for over a year, graduating from Poser 4+Pro Pak to Poser 6.

I work mainly with Daz 3d Millennium figures (V3/M3) and have done hand drawn (with Paint Shop Pro) textures for V3. However, I would like to know if it’s possible to import Millennium Figs to Z Brush and apply textures straight onto them so to speak. Also, I’d like to construct my own morphs other than those available in Injection Pose Builder.

OK, a lot to ask for a newbie, but any help would be greatly appreciated

It’s all possible. Get the ZBrush practical guide… You can find it on ZBCentral or at pixologic.com. There are Poser tutorials in there. If you have any more questions after reading that, come back and post again.

thanks, will go and take a look - should be interesting, though I can’t promise to be able to do anything for a looooonng time

To let you know something which may not be so obvious, after exporting your figure out of Poser as an .obj and importing into poser, go under the texture menu in ZB and import your Poser texture and then flip it vertically so it will display properly within ZB. Then you can make modifications to the texture and export it back out of ZB…

hope that makes sense.

Hi barrowlass,
here’s something else to remember: from Poser, export the body and head as two seperate objects. You will need to do this because Poser assigns seperate textures to both the body, and head.
Once you have the head loaded in ZBrush, you can also mask the eyelash geometry and remove them.
Also, from within Poser, you can get rid of the extra eyebrow geometry, which tends to stand out in Zbrush, even after the head texture has been applied(assuming you are importing, and applying the poser texture.)
Hope this helps.

thanks, never thought of that - too used to thinking of figure as one element at times! ah well, will have a play!
