this are the two models i am working on - I go up and down very often.
It would be cool to be able to work on low lvls - however displaying higher
lvls. half of the time i wait for updates (my machine is kind of old)

These are some really nice models! Cool closeup on the old man’s nose, showing the detail. Hope you can find a good eye tutorial so you can get something into those empty sockets just waiting for eyes! :smiley:

Some really nice renders. I particularly like the one of the mouth and nose, some nice pore action happening:)

qestion: im a noob…hmm…unfortunately…and i wanted to ask…in thec close up of the nose…how do u do the pores?

…do we do it like this:
go to projection master…do a Zsub with a colourized spary with a small alpha dot?

exactly - though in my opinion details dont male the difference -
maybe its cause i cant do them properly due to my machine…

but once i worked at a 3gig machine with 2 gig ram i started to
add details too early - i think that working on your model at the
early lvls pays back later.

but maybe i am wrong and should do some ugly alien with details…:o

these are some sketches i started sketching 2d loaded them as
alphas and then made them 3d - i then defined the rough shape
in a couple of mins

a render test - at 3,2x2,4 - antropus light and mat (thx) - took 15 mins :>

Hi,

may latest work is pure architectural_modeling
i am working on 2 cities_mainz, germany today
and the antik collogne

cologne will be shown from the northwest corner
to the southest gate. i try in sketchup
cause its a big scene and our rendering farm is
not able to handle that many polys_

i would like to know if a single rendering machine
can handle 10x8 “blocks” with each 20 big displacements

what if i would make all these little details and
in the end our machine just dont get that out?

in my freetime i model alot in
modo these days_i really think
that zbrush is nice but modos
renderer beats zrender.

i just want to focus on modeling
i dont want to be forced to know
all the nuts about rendering.

just get it out qickly in a standard
3d interface_no export! just pressing
the button to get some feetback.

zbrush 2.5 will bring up some amazing
possibilities_but there are simple thinks
which should be possible with zbrush.

perspective_is very important

cages_

in standard subd progs you can use
cages to transform your model.
high poly and low geometry could be shown
on different screens so you could visually
seperate both worlds.

on my left screen z would show me the
lvl one mesh_on my other screen i would
see my lvl 10 highres.

lowrez turntables_who would generate
360 turnarounds at 240 or 480.
which you could show via tubes or
gvideo_flat 4d is better than flat 3d

maybe zcasting will deal with that

IMPORT_and export

i model in sketchup_but zbrush just
doesnt like tris. there is no link
