WIP - Gamabunta

Since I can’t seem to work on one model for any extended period of time without getting a new idea i wanna try out… I took a break from the caterpillar to start trying to recreate the character of Gamabunta (or Boss Toad… whichever you prefer) from the anime Naruto.

This is still an early stage in the WIP for my tastes (only about hour to 2 hours of work put in so far) and I’ll come back on tomorrow when I have more time to update with some of the preliminary mesh’s used.

C&C appreciated and welcomed!

ps… i know the coat is weaksauce but i’m only getting used to the ideas behind using extract to make clothing… considering this is only like week 3 or 4 with zbrush i’m hoping im progressing nicely.

I took the past few days to start learning re-topology and i wa able to rework a bit of the gamabunta model to fix some issues and recover a few million poly’s… and then i decided to take the newfound topology skills and try to create some more things for the scene so i went and decided to make naruto and have him on top of gamabunta’s head just like he should be…

i’ll be trying to post screenshots of my stages over the weekend but honestly on this one i just flew through the process so i dont have alot of the initial models saved…

no one m,igt not have said **** to you bro. But i gotta say! great stuff man, u got potencial

thanks man… i really appreciate it… i’m trying my best to learn the different things i need to figur out a step at a time and i think i’m hitting a good stride now… now that i’ve figured out how to retopo fairly well i can start figuring out displacement maps and normal maps and yadda yadda…

honestly i gotta say though i dont think any of what i’ve ever managed to make so far would be possible without my tablet… i just have a simple wacom bamboo 60$ tablet but zbrush is so intuitive with it that the prototyping of whatever ifdea hits me comes together in minutes… i can only imagine what would be possible with a big honking cintiq … one day maybe if i’m ever making money on this…one day
