My name is Tyler Brooks. (lw TB) lol Im 13 yrs old. That may make me the youngest. Born July 17, 1988. From Fairfield, OH since i was born. Love art in all ways. Zbrush rules. In eighth grade. Wanna do sometinhg with game design when i grow up. Found Zbrush on 3dlinks.com.
Hello everybody my name is Dimitris Chloupis i am from Hellas (Greece) and I am 23 years old. I currently study law in UK and I will return back to Athens next year. I paint , program and compose music since i was 9. However what i do best is not actually computer graphics but composing electronic music.
My favourite artists are Jean Michelle Jarre, Vangelis, Yanni and Mike Oldfield. I love also heavy metal (especially Blind Guardian, Megadeth and Iced Earth). I stopped the last year composing music (because No money equals no expensive musical equipment, which very necessary well almost the same applies with 3d graphics) and i worked with 3dsmax , truespace, Amapi and finally Zbrush.
My ambitions is finally one day to produce 3d graphics movies , like Final Fantasy, but it is a long way. I am also huge fan of StarTrek , Lord of the Rings , Babylon 5 etc.
Okay, I think it’s time I try to get to 100 posts, so here goes…
I’m <squeeaauuuuukkkkkk!> years old. I know, hard to believe, eh? And have been midwest corn fed all my life. Currently living in the St. louis, MO, U.S.A. area with a wife, daughter, a great dane, two cats and a Macintosh.
When I grow up, I’d like to earn my keep, sitting half-naked in front of my computer monitor creating illustrations for big money. For now I’ll have to make do, designing websites, and creating Flash animations for the world’s largest Performance Improvement company (my office may not have a window, but it at least has lousy coffee) - which noone has ever heard of. I’m from the old school of graphic design (x-acto blades, waxers, circle templates, etc.) but have left that behind after discovering the vector and pixel.
Other than my artistic interests, I used to be a volleyball junkie, which can be a little trying when you’re only 5’6". So I moved on to discover the most fascinating martial art of Aikido. Which I practice and teach at the St. Louis Ki Society. If you’re ever in town, drop by for a great workout!
Let’s see, anything else? Oh yeah… someday I’ll finish my “Perpetually-Being-Redesigned-Website TM”, so that you can have something to look at other than a splash page.
thanks for letting me play!

Hi, my name is Dave Merchen. New to the forum, but this has got to be one of the best I have seen. I live in Houston Texas with my beautiful wife of 10 years yesterday and 9 children. Yes…9. I was in the Air force for 10 years where I visited Germany, Italy, Bahrain, Saudi, Turkey, and any place else they could send me. I work with Weatherford Oil Company as a Senior Optical Technician working with fiber optics in the Research and Design group. Art, 3D graphics, web pages are currently a hobby, but I really wouldn’t mind making it a career. Ah… the dream.
Hi, I live in Chicago with my husband, 2 cats, 2 pc’s, and one Tivo. I’m 34 and I’m a unix system administrator. I’ve dabbled in art–painting, drawing, & photography–for most of my life but didn’t really get hooked until I went 3d. I’ve been using Photoshop for about 10 years, and lately have spent most of my time with Poser, Vue D’esprit, Amapi, and a couple of other programs. I got turned on to Zbrush over on the IDD boards by Glen Southern, and so far I’m mainly learning morphs and texturing to bring back into poser. But I hope to start using it for rendering and post production as well.
My gallery’s at www.canary3d.com

Hi All, I’m new here as well just found your site yesterday. I’m 54, live in North Idaho, a jeweler by trade and was a fine art major in college. I have been retired for 10 years but continue with my jewelry. I have just purchased a CAD/CAM carving machine and am currently looking to teach myself how to use it and some helpful software that is geared towards the jewelry artist and not just the engineer. I have my own shop and produce custom jewelry. I find your work here most interesting and you all have some wonderful designs.
I was just commenting to my wife the other day that 3D models can be dropped into an app for actual carving. Talk about the birth of the Digital Sculptor! I cant wait until you start posting an actual ring image which was born with ZSpheres!
Wonderful and exciting stuff!
Welcome abroad!
There’s my name to the left, I’m 3 years older than the answer to “Life, the Universe and everything.”
I’ve been drawing all my life and came this close to having a strip in a major metropolitan newspaper. But management changed and so did my chances…
I am nuts about comics, not so much the characters, rather as a story-telling medium. Current faves are Mutant Texas, Girl Genius and Transmetropolitian.
Been married to a Goddess for just over 11 years. Share the condo we live in with a cat, Rascal, and canary, Spike.
Rascal adopted me when I was a manager of a Pet Store (the owner said I had no choice, I was her human). Have trained the cat to respond, actually run to me, when ever I whistle the theme to “Lassie” (Greensleeves). I love irony.
Spike was found fluttering around in our building’s driveway. Utilized my “pet professional” skillz to capture him and promptly got a cage for him. That was September 7th 2001. We named him spike because he, a norwich canary, had a ‘do just like our fave supporting character from Buffy. Usually Canaries don’t sing when under stress, so I didn’t worry about his silence as he was eating well and yadda yadda yadda. Then (dramatic music) came 9/11. As Janet (the Goddess-Spousal-Unit) and I watched in horror as the Towers collapsed, Spike chose that time to begin singing. He must be attuned to something, cuz’ his song was just what we needed to hear.
Like I said, I enjoy irony.
I’ve been a IT guy for Soloman-Smith-Baloney, Web Designer, Flash Guru and currently laid off from my teaching job at a vocational college. I taught Photoshop, HTML coding, Web site development, Illustrator and flash. You’re welcome to my Mac(QuickSilver, 733Mhz, 1.25 gig Ram, 140Gb hard disk space over 3 drives), if you can pry the Wacom from my c o l d d e a d h a n d s .
I discovered ZBrush when looking for a texture mapping program for Carrara. Although I’m currently irked at ZBrush (see my thread “Demoness” in the ZBrush forum), I hope to get over the learning curve soon. I hope.
I’m currently working on several proposals for various and sundry Independent Comic Publishers, and will be going to ComicCon in San Diego this coming July. I may actually be a booth chatter for a software company at the con. Some stuff will be up at www.crtoons.com. Feel free to e-mail me [email protected] if you want to be on my beta-reader list
Also, in my experience this is one of the most cordigal (sp) forums I’ve ever had the honor of being a part of.

…hmmm, looks like I will representing the German corner here :
-born in 1946, and thus living in a pieceful time (no matter what some of them politicians seem to be stirring up every once in a while)
-named Wolfgang Becker(had they asked ME, I would have chosen something like “Ramona” - THEY didn’t!)
-married 25 years, two sons (15/18), one pet (not DIRECTLY connected to this marriage ), some hedgehogs.
- been into drawing for as long as I can remember ("…what was that that I said just recently??"). Mostly ink-drawings and pencil-work.
-started with an old C64 - never thought that this was the beginning of a never ending struggle with those darn machines - besides ZBrush/Bryce/Painter: I came to collect editors (gaming-stuff, all kinds of tools for building worlds - just as long as it is RPG-stuff), still ´looking for that “perfect” one.
-living in southern Germany (Bavaria), mending the house and the - big - garden. - Job? Well, not enuff time for this!!

Hello!
I’m Karen River, 50 years old, from Lansing MIchigan, USA, living with a very cranky 20-year old cat.
I’ve been an artist all my life, although only recently on the computer. I do portraits and wildlife art in various media, such as pencil, colored pencil, pen & ink, watercolor, and egg tempera. Part of my living is earned etching portraits, landscapes and other decorative artwork on headstones for a couple of monument companies.
In the last five years, I have begun to “paint” using Photoshop and Painter; & now, Zbrush. This is my first venture into 3D - I’m chiefly interested in the modeling aspect of it. Around the same time I discovered ZBrush, I started sculpting polymer clay figurines also, so it appears 3D is for me.
I’m very impressed with ZBrush, as well as with the community here. I’ve been lurking for a few months, reading all the posts & FAQs I can find; I’ve begun working on a model which is currently at the blobby amoeba stage, but as it begins to take form, I believe I’ll post it & ask for some feedback.
i’ll pull on that bell rope too…

Hello my name is Markus Myers, I’m a 35 year old electronic design engineer. I was born in Germany and lived there for the first 9 years of my life. I came to Canada in 1977 and have lived here ever since.
I have included a self portrait that I did for a recent art class that I am taking (and no it was not done in ZBrush but I plan on re-doing it in ZBrush).
Regards,
Markus

My name is Jessica (you’ll have to settle for my first name) I never even knew zbrush existed till this last year. I had no idea about forums or such a thing existed. I’m 25 going to be 26 in April. I have a wonderful boyfriend and 2 cats. I love this site and zbrush. Im still waiting for that unleashing zbrush book to come out and i can’t wait. Last time i heard it’s supposed to be coming out in August. I know very little about computers and I’m always very impressed by the knowledge you guys share. I used to do scratch board and drawing before i learned of this site. Here is a piece done with pencil and charcoal. I don’t know who did the original that i drew from, but it was excellent.
I was hoping i could make a model of my boyfriend for quake but i’m so lost i tried doing one of the tutorials on here but i couldn’t figure out all the steps. It was an awesome tutorial too. so if any of you have spare time an could walk me through step by step i would try it again.
