claytubes imo, helps avoid the blobby feel most beginners have
do we have to sculpt and then smooth when using the claytube brush…
either smooth, or use the clay brush
yes clay bursh doesen’t give us hard edges but the clay tubes brush gives

Nothing wrong with hard edges, if you only making muscles.
But you can smooth after using the claytubes.

You’'l find that if you set the clay tubes brush at a low intensity and you use quick and short strokes, that you’ll get a more smoother look. And don’t forget you can change the alpha and focal shift of the brush for an even smoother look.
Personally, I like the default alpha as it gives the muscles a nice sinewy look.
