wacom intous 4 large converted in to medium intous3 size wise?...can one of the mods?

of the mods hi can some one tell me what i need to type in the coordinates boxes under tablet mapping for my intous4 large http://www.wacom.com/intuos/large.php to function proportion wise as my old intous3 6x8 inches …so that i can map my tablet specifically for zbrush4 ?..

im not sure what to put in as far as coordinates goes so that it functions as my old intous3 6x8.. any help some one here or one of the moderators can give would be greatly appreciated?..

how do some in the zbrush community have there tablet setup for use in zbrush?

bumping this again in hopes of getting in answer so i can set my tablet up right?

Probably the reason your not getting any help on this is because what your asking doesn’t make a lot of sense. Maybe if you also stated what the problem is that would cause you to want to do this or maybe show a screen grab of the problem it is causing.

Just out of curiosity, and I’m only basing this on what your asking, why would you buy an Intuos 4 large and then want to change it to be like an Intuos 3 medium?

hey zber2 the reason why i want to customize the intous4 large is because it is to tiresome to use the whole active area of the large intous4 for zbrush sculpting and the reason why is because my friends dog chewed up my intous 3 when i was visiting and i really liked the active area size much better than what i am using for on the intous4 large… the only reason why i got the large is for digital painting and to have more space to draw and paint on because i wanted to also get more into painting as much as i got into digital sculpting … and the reason why a i am asking is because i would hate to have to buy a smaller intous4 just so i can use zbush more manageabley…

i hope that kind of explains the reason why… im sure any body who has a large intous tablet knows what i am talking about…

Hey troy1617.

Why don’t you use the drag handles to define the tablet portion. It doesn’t have to be that precise. The Intuos3 medium is 3/4 the size of the Intuos4 large. You can eyeball 3/4 size with the corner drag handles (Fig.1) then just grab the rectangle in the middle and center it (Fig,.2)

i don’t think you understand it has to be proportional equivalent as to what aspect ratio your screen is …there for if its off ti makes accuracy near to impossible i really don’t understand why you would eyeball it … especially when the active area has to match proportions of the screen your working on you eyeball it could throw everything of and in turn screw up the way your hand makes shapes…

i guess you dont know what im trying to say because you have never delt with this before…

Tape the area you want to use on the tablet then use the Select Area with Tool option.

Intuos4 width = 12.8"
Intuos3 width = 8.0"

Percentage difference of width = (8/12.8)*100 = 62.5%
The Intuos3 width is 100% - 62.5% = 37.5% narrower than Intuos4

Intuos4 height = 8.0"
Intuos3 height = 6.0"

Percentage difference of height = (6/8)*100 = 75.0%
The Intuos3 height is 100% - 75.0% = 25.0% lower than Intuos4

So,

First, make sure that Tablet Area is set to Full then:

The coordinate in the left box will be the coordinate in the right box times 37.5%

The coordinate in the top box will be the coordinate in the bottom box times 25.0%

As the boxes won’t allow decimals, then you can only be accurate to the nearest whole number.
