Hi there everyone,
It has been along time since I looked around ZBrush central, so apologies if this information is else where…
I have been looking at the Zbrush to Arnold renderer for Maya vector displacement pipeline. Doing the pixologic vector displacement diagnostics test, it seems to me that the correct settings for “tangent flip and switch” and “flip and switch” are 47? This is for the “world space” diagnostics test texture.
Now am I right in thinking, that for a deforming character, vector displacement should actually be “tangent space”, like a deforming character’s normal map? And if you need to find out the settings for generating a tangent space vector displacement map for a renderer, how would you go about doing this? I seems to me that if I generate a vector displacement map with the “47” diagnostics settings I tested for world space - this does not have the same results when generating and rendering tangent space vector displacement? I could be wrong here?
Many thanks!
James
PS - I don’t seem to see any “arnold” results in a search of the troubleshooting forum, are there any out there??
