Using ZRemesher help

I have been away from ZBrush for several years, mainly using 3DC, so I am a bit rusty.

I have imported my model created in Modo and want before I start to uniform, get a better poly flow using ZRemesher.

The problem is no matter how I configure the settings ZRemesher removes too much detail and makes the poly count too low for my needs.

Is there a way to keep the same poly count so that I do not loose any detail? So, in this case, I keep my 909.264 poly count but get a nice poly flow, or is there a better tool to do this

Have you read the documentation for ZRemesher?

Yep! That’s why I’ve posted!!.. I guess ZRemesher can only reduce the poly count, I got confused with the tabs “Same” and “Double” which made me think you could keep the polycount.

.

ZRemesher is generally designed to reduce poly count. You can always reclaim lost detail with projection. If you just want to remesh the object to allow for better sculpting, that’s what dynamesh is for.

If you want Zremehser to more rigidly adhere to the poly target you set, you’ll have to disable adaptive, otherwise the adaptive slider determines priority (high values more accurate form, low values more evenly distributed polys).

Thanks for the clarification. Very helpful…
