Update base mesh and layers

I made some modifications to the base mesh in Maya after the sculpt in zBrush.

I could not import a base mesh and update the file using FBX - for some reason I have to use OBJ.

I imported an OBJ and it updated the base mesh without losing any sculpting information.

However if I toggle a layer off and on the base mesh jumps back to the old shape and I have to import the OBJ again.

Is there a way to store this change permanently?

2021.1.2, Win10, RTX 2070

hi @magilla, try the Bake all button in layers section that will apply the layer to the base mesh.

thanks for the suggestion but I want to keep the layers
