Typing decimal value in slider not working (answered)

Problem in ZB4 Mac.

I have some problem typing decimal value in the text slider zone. For some reasons, I prefer enter precise value than using the slider.

IE: if I try 0.5 in the thick slider of Extract (Subtool palette), ZB take not the decimal part and retain only 0. It doesn’t recognize the decimal part (separated by “.” or by “,”. In this last case it open the lightbox because “,” is the shortcut for lightbox).

Perhap’s a problem with european Keyboard or configuration (I try using “,” or “.” as a separator for decimal in Preference System but nothing better)

Sorry for my poor english and hope someone understand and have a solution.

Try this:

  1. Click on the slider to highlight it.
  2. Enter the value using the keyboard. Only use a dot, not the comma (,) as a decimal point.
  3. Press the TAB key (or hit Enter, but the TAB key may be better).

That should enter the number correctly.

Thanks for your answer, but it doesn’t work.
Everytime I type the dot, ZBrush validate the entry (IE : in the deformation panel, if I want to type 25.8 in the rotation slider, when I type the dot between 25 and 8, Zbrush validate 25 as the entry and doesn’t allow me to type the 8, so the final entry is 25). It is specially a problem with slider that goes from 0 to 1 cause I can’t manually enter in betwwen values.

Does this happen on the keyboard period as well as the number pad period? Look in your StartupHotkeys.txt file and see if there is something assigned to the period key.

ZBER 2 : It doesn’t work on the keyboard period as well as the number pad period.
No shortcut to this your StartupHotkeys.txt

Thank for your help Andre, but my problem is not on the extract tool himself, but on the slider decimal values in general. I can understand that my english is not perfect and can lead to misunderstand. Sorry too !

Many thanks Marcus, It works.

It allows me to use decimal value until I (or Pixologic) find the problem.
