Typical Vilain

This morning I really wanted to work with ZBrush (Zaddiction), but I also had work to do. I had to do some images of a bad guy character, so I thought: Hmm, what if I risk my job, and instead of going with the usual and tried way of sketching, I use ZBrush to visualize the character, with no sketch or any preconception.

So I went right on, and started building ZSpheres, realizing the character while working. The result was very quick and natural. The whole process took about two hours. OK, the sketches would have taken me less time, but with this process I have a much more fleshed out version of the character.

ZBrush is the only software I use that makes me get up and do a victory dance every once in a while.

Awesome!!

Heya, m-in, what’s wrong with you — so long time not here and (what is more important) – no more new works

Nice 2 cu anyway

Very nice! Now, as you can pose your villain quickly, would you still be quicker sketching when you would have to re-draw him in other poses?

Hey ya Abyssis, is a week that long?

@mytholon: mea culpa, dude, I meant user “m-in” :sunglasses:
…and btw: your posted work is very very good :+1:

Another character sketch for my work, using the same, above process.

I believe that your method will be copy :sunglasses:

Ps What is “BG” In Toshop ? Back ground ?

Damn thats awesome, i especially love the hair…

btw with the ZSphering, how long did it take you to get the hang of it and to be able to use it very well?

the ZSphering, how long did it take you to get the hang of it

The Zspheres are like a “wooden mannequin”, it’s after that a little more complicated, because it’s like real sculpture, when you refine the “wood model”
It’s depend of your artist’s skill
Anyway you can make with Zbrush crazzy thing :sunglasses:
It’s a very addict prog!

Using the same technique. The process becomes faster and faster. ZBrush has become a part of my sketching workflow by now.

Psygnosis, it took me about 3 months to be familiar enoughe with ZBrush, so that I can use it not only creatively but also efficiently. Sorry for the delayed answer; It was a 3 day weekend holiday here in Greece, and I took full advantage of it (spending all of the time at the beach :)).

Frenchy, yes, BG is for background. Your wooden mannequin paradigm is very much to the point. This is how I percieve ZSpheres too.

very nice!!!

this last character is really GREAT !!!

I love it!! it could be a very good character for a fantasy story like “Never Ending Story”!!
Amazing :sunglasses: :+1:

(I love “Never Ending Story”)

Cool work Mytholon, that last one is a very funny dude.

Beautiful work, I like Sasami Sensei very much

I’m digging Sasami Sensei. A really fun design. How did you do his eyebrows? they look great. I like the anime purple color too…

Dickie

Yep; [color=SandyBrown]Sasami rules!! great little character, Mythalon :+1:
C’mon - I’m with Dickie here; what’s the hair trick; clever snakehook?

Chris

Dickie, Atwooki: Nothing special for the eyebrows. I just designed them with ZSpheres, sculpted some hair threads on them with Std and Inflate, and then used plenty of Smudge during post.
Apart from the compositing of my rendering passes, I do all the post work -color & value corrections, highlights, smudges - within ZBrush

Bonito bicho. Oye Mytholon, algunas de tus imágenes no pueden verse.
