tilde key on an azerty keyboard ? Meats Meier DVD

Hi,
I recently bought the gnomon_Meats Meier DVD - introduction to…,
In the lecture about texturing - texture master - he’s showing how to make a perfect tileable texture-bump image: you have to push the Tilde key.

I have an azerty keyboard and the only way to type a ~ is to hold the
“Alt gr” and then the tilde key… and nothing happens in Zbrush when I use that keycombination.

I there another hotkey (or combination) to manage this tiling technique in Zbrush ?

Thanks

I’ve got a toshiba labtop too with a german keyboard and want to use the layer displacing without going to layers tab every time.
When I change my language and keyboard to english/us my draw size is getting bigger when I hold the tilde key- no chance to drag in order to get my layer displaced.

Edit :stuck_out_tongue: , found it myself…phew

Found the solution by searching the tilde type in a text editor>
My labtop toshiba satelite series(german keyboard) in an engl/US keyboard mode uses SHIFT+° to evoke a tilde command

Hi,

I am a complete newbie (at least in zbrush) and i was following some tutorials where the tilde key was used. Now, on my belgian mac keyboard, that ~ is not on the keyboard and inserting it in a text requires me to push alt+n together. However, this key combination doe NOT work when trying to make tileable stuff.

any info would be enormously helpful!

thanks a bunch,
popo

OK,

As i was just a teensie bit tired yesterday i did not seem to be able to find all the posts concerning the elusive tilde key, however, i now have found the answer to my question.

tilde on my keyboard is activated by combining ctrl+<

hooray and on to bigger and better things!
