There is more to it than muscle anatomy, can a fantastic artist come from no tallent?

Iv been sculpting on and off for a few years now, and have learnt a lession from my obsavations, and that there is much more to producing a good sculpt than just muscle anatomy. I could have all the muscles in the correct place, but that dont produce correct form, what about dynamic posing, weight, ballance, artistic flow and exageration, imagination. It seems somone like me who has little tallent has to learn things in a more mechanical way than what a very tallented sculptor gains naturaly over time.

To me this seperates the difference to be good, and fantastic. My question is it posible for somone with little tallent to excell to become fantastic as the naturaly tallented person given they put the time in.

I take a lession from bodybuilding. Some have natural genetics, all they have to do is train hard, get diet right. Others who dont have the genetics have to work crazy hard to produce a perception for what they dont have naturaly, which in the end will never look as good as a naturaly genticly gifted person, but still better than if they never tried, I think the words im trying to use is make the best of what you have, not what you dont, in either case the best of the best is only a perceived target that can never be reached in reality, but simply used to help you get what your capable of.

Is there realy such training out there that can take somone like me, and help produce a fantastic top row artist?

knowing where muscles are placed doesn’t make for a complete piece of art. I’ll put it as simply as possible, there are no shortcuts. You will be a much more successful artist if you understand that it’s simply a matter of practicing the right things.

Sculpting off and on will not cut it if you want significant results quickly. This goes for anything in life, I often find the most significant factor in improving in any field is mental.

Your idea of “naturally talented” is doing more harm than good. I am not here to discourage you, but many “talented” people you may admire had to overcome the same kinds of hurdles you are facing now.

My advice is to find a way to motivate yourself. Don’t let other people discourage you from working, instead let them drive you to improve and become a better artist. Once you believe and understand that it really just comes down to practicing, then it’s much easier to improve.
