Terence Mckenna - Tribute

I am happy to finally share my tribute to Terence Mckenna. This is my second tribute to thinkers that helped shape my mind in one way or another. I also had the chance to talk to his brother Dennis Mckenna in the process, so having his blessing and approval was absolutely inspiring.

The sculpting was done all by hand and no comercial alphas or textures were used in the process. HD Geometry was my tool of choice.

Once again, the video part of this work required a lot of effort and experimentation but it’s an amazing artistic experience.
I also took the time to create the music background played in the first half of the video and you can listen to the song here:

The “psychedelic part” of the video was conceptualized and created by the amazing London-based artist and filmmaker Nathan Stassin. You can find more of his work here:

Awesome

Just amazing. Perfect.

Thank you for sculpting this and putting the time and energy into building a render for it. This was no easy task and you did a brilliant job at capturing the facial anatomy of TM. I recognized him from the thumbnail right away, and was thrilled to see a portrait of him in this medium on ZBC. I am also incredibly ecstatic that you were able to engage DM in this process and get his blessing on your work. From the works I’ve read and interviews I’ve watched of Dennis, he has carried their work for the long haul and I absolutely love his kind and gentle soul. I hope you make a portrait of DM in the future and can pair the two together in a piece. Based on this sculpt of TM, it would turn out absolutely stunning. Hoping for top row on this one. You deserve it!

That’s insane

A copycat of Fernando Arrabal!
