SVG to DFX Converter?

I’m using Meshlabs to make 2d line information from my models using the slice feature. These images are saved into a format called SVG “Scalable Vector Graphics”.
I can open them in Paint Shop Pro. Paint Shop gives me several file format save options, but it wont let me convert/save these SVG files as a DFX, or DWG.
Which is the only file format i can use with a friends machine to make a 3d part from these SVG files.

I looked on the net for a freeware version of such a program, but couldn’t find it. Maybe Meshlabs already lets you do this to the SVG files, but I can’t figure out how. Anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There are probably quite a few programs that will do this but you probably need to look at Vector drawing programs or 3D programs that can handle splines.

Inkscape, for which SVG is the default format, will do save to DXF (though I haven’t tried the conversion).

blender can import svg and export dxf. i’ve never tried it though.

Thanks Marcus and Pete.
