Going well so far SiD, watch where the joints are at a bend at the moment they are tubular as if a bent tube so concentrate your efforts in this area where the flesh and muscle rest against each other and the shapes it will create see some ref for this. Its going well though keep pushing it :+1:

Dan

Hey, great work. personal opinions here.
the boy looks abit creepy maybe due to the eyes, slightly bigger than i like.
the joints where they fold, like the elbow and knees, lack fats or muscle which usually enlarged at these areas when folded.

here are some examples of what i’m trying to say.

as you would notice, even for a thin arm, fats/muscles are bound to accumulate when it folds.
great job nonetheless.

Id suggest going over the bony areas with Trim dynamic, its great for planning out surfaces! especially on the joints great work man :slight_smile:

this is one reason why i luv zbrush central … i posted these images on other forums too … but i got best suggestions here on zbrush central … thanx guys … :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

@Pteropus vampyrus – thanx for commenting … i totally agree wid u on the joint areas … i will surely concentrate on those areas.:cry:

@GX@W – Thanx a lot for the suggestions and for the images … i really appreciate that u spent some time help me out. :slight_smile: i will b here with some updates soon …

@Sathanael – Thank you. :):slight_smile:

you are welcome, you got a strong culpt therejust need to break some planes on the surface of the boney areas. :slight_smile:

nice work sid… :slight_smile:

Definitely the main issues are the compression at the elbows & knees. Also, & I might be nitpicking, but it feels like the back of the should could use a little bit more massing.

That said, overall it’s looking great, really got some character to it. :wink:

@Sathanael - thank you once again :slight_smile:
@basantjoshi - thanx.!!:slight_smile:
@sheaspina - i dont think u were nit-pickin’, i will work on the areas u have suggested and come back with an update soon … plz be there to comment again!! :slight_smile:

great start and I know you’re still in the beggining, but as you increase the resolution it will be awesome to see the ribs and waistline more defined. I also agree with the comment above regarding the compression at the knees and elbows.

:+1:

Thanx drem026. I will come up with some updates soon.

Just added some volume and tightness to the joint areas … . still on the same subdivision level … let me know how it looks now and wht other things are needed at this level, before i jump to higher level.
Thanx in advance …
Plz comment !!!

Update 01.jpg

Cool piece of work. I would offer some serious criticism if I could, but I mainly do zbrush sketches for fun. Keep going though.

For a starving kid, he has too much fat deposits left. That is to say, his jaws aren’t gaunt, his eyes aren’t sunken and, as others have said, the ribs aren’t defined in a ‘starving’ fashion.

Nice cherub face, though.

Nice work! I think he should be dead though. That he already starved to death but thats just me. Keep it up!

I shudnt really have titled it as “starving’ kid” in first place … I really dint like the images i found when i googled for starving kid. so i thought of modeling a kid that’s just been hungry for couple of days … but i named it as ‘starving’ kid … sorry, my bad !! :p:D

any ways, thanx for the suggestions …
@SeanJM, adam harnett, UnCommonGrafx, Cordycep … thanx ppl !! :):):slight_smile:
