Here’s a version of Soundwave from the original 80’s Saturday morning cartoon. The original concept ( http://creaturebox.com/<wbr>artwork/catchin-a-wave/ ) was done by Greg Baldwin over at Creaturebox.com. If you get chance check out Greg and Dave’s web-sight, they have some truly inspiring artwork there. Modeled in Maya and Zbrush, and rendered in mental ray. C & C’s are most helpful and welcomed.
Thanks
wow… this is nice… how was the glow done…? i like how its not all “shiney” … great…
Thanks tyrellcorp ! The glow was done in Maya, and touched up in Photoshop. I was curious how you achieved your glow with the organic pods that you created ? Here’s a better render .
Thanks again.

This style. I too like it.
MAN!!! you beat me to this guy… i’ve wanted to try and model him for a while… The Stuff on creature box is amazing and inspiring! You Did a great job on this, congrats!
cheers dude… just pipe the painted ZB texture through incadesance and the “glow” attribute, useing the colour balance to control the amount of the “glow”… most of the time i paint the obj in ZB black and then paint where i want the glow to be so when you pipe it through the incad channel it “overlays” itself on the colour channel…
