Simple question about edge loops

Hi,

I’m new to ZBrush and trying to follow the “Sculpting a female head” tutorial by Ryan Kingslien.

But, I can’t seem to make an edge loop around the face area. I’ve turned it into a Polymesh 3d and have the correct tool selected but the edge loop button is greyed out.

Any suggestions?

i think you need to have part of the mesh hidden before you can do an edge loop.

Thanks Nerveink. But, I have hidden part of the mesh before trying (see picture)

On the tutorial video you can see the Edge Loop button become available as soon as he turns it into a Polymesh.

Please always specify your version when asking a question.

In 3.12 there is a known issue that the Edge Loop button is not available if the model doesn’t have any subtools. Just append a dummy subtool and turn off its visibility.
