Hi,
i am selling my zbrush 3.5 PC license, full commercial for 495$. I selling it because i want focus on 2D art not 3d anymore. Email me at [email protected] if anyone interested. Thanks
If your focus is going to be “2d” art you should still keep ZBrush
Hi, jaystein777
actually i still want to keep my zbrush3.5 and wait for zbrush 4 and paintstop improvement (layer??). But i think zbrush focus more on 3d sculpture than 2d, paintstop and 2.5d is really cool but i think not as powerfull as 2d software (photoshop and painter) in workflow for creating 2d art.
I don’t know about zbrush 4 spotlight, i hope in zbrush 4 there will be 2d or illustration improvement and maybe combine or intregation with paintstop:) with 2D layer improvement, layer blending is important to. I don’t have a lot money to buy all software so i sell zbrush to buy 2d software.
(sorry for my english)
You can always use GIMP - http://www.gimp.org/ - a powerful image editing software for free, a great substitute for Photoshop.
And Artrage - http://www.artrage.com/ - a powerful drawing/painting software. It costs just 25 bucks. and it’s very easy to learn. There’s a free version too (with limited functionality). Believe me, Zbrush is very worthy, even for people who prefer to focus on 2d.

Thanks jramauri for info about using gimp and artrage,
after few days try gimp i think using gimp is enough for doing 2d art and i want to combine 3D and 2D for my art now:D. I want to wait for zbrush 4 and paintstop.
Hi, I’m an illustrator who’s big on 2d as well. I’m currently trying to wrap my brain around actual 3d modeling to combine with digital sculpting and painting.
However, I’ve used ZBrush for a few years now in conjunction with Painter and Photoshop. I can officially testify that you have made the right choice. ZBrush goes hand in hand with drawing and painting better than any 3d related software out there. You will never regret it. Just continue to study the diversity of the toolset.
For example, I find that painting over gestural ZBrush models provides a great workflow. Just using zspheres and simple, less detailed models to capture strong gesture is way better than sketching. It’s like being able to actively pose your sketch. Stay focused on proportion and gesture, that’s the trick. Don’t get wrapped up in hi frequency details until the piece is already finished. It can make it too noisy anyway.
Plus, PaintStop is a real sweet toolset that’s going to be further developed. I love it as is, but before too long, ZBrush could actually be your most valuable software.
Good luck and good decision!
Thanks James for sharing your experience, You have a great artworks and good luck to you too in combining 2D and 3D.
well buddy…
One way is to buy liscence first and learn after… I prefer the other way round…
I would humbly suggest you two things…
1- You can always have a PLE (personal learning edition) for many soft wares, Demo versions, or cheeper student versions of some applications like houdini offers a less than 100 bux version (without sim & particles though) similarly VUE has a PLE, You can always go for demo and you can figure things out within a month instead of buying it out straight away.
2- Open source solutions. There are lots of tools for both 2d and 3d work out there which are open source. simpler meanings free for guys like u and me. for example:
Great example is blender. google it. Wings3D is another popular thing. nd for several other purposes you can find open source soft wares like Gimp and Gimpshop for image treatment, check this link to see a list of open source applications. Not specific to 3D.

check further down on this page for this link for Grpahics related applications only:

But Keeping the license would be a better option in longer run, thats my suggestion. Only because Pixologic has this great tradition of offering free upgrade to their license holders for any update they bring to ZBrush.
good luck anyway.
