Second model (Edward scissorhands) rate please !!!

Hello again everyone, thanks for your lovely comments on my dragon
ok, i searched Edward scissorhand everywhere and i couldnt find a 3d model of his face, guess what I started making one

heres the model without texture and hair (the hair is the key thing so stay tuned)

Meh, i dont think the result came out as i liked, but regarding to its time im satisfied. Good questions came up while i was doing the editing.

  1. When i import my model in 3dmax obviously it has to be low poly, but when i want to do use the displacement map, the model doesnt have enough polygons to show the detail.I thought of using meshsmooth to give it more polygons but the amount of polygons need is more than what my computer can handle. I read something about mental ray and the things it had to do with this but i didnt understand it.thats questoin one.
  2. Is there a way to render faster ??!!!
