I’ve been trying to sculpt water droplets onto a bottle and having difficulty achieving the right look- mine are too soft and molded to the glass- I’ve used the Standard Brush and experimented w/ different hardness and gravity, and have tried other default brushes- any pointers on what type of brush/settings to use is appreciated
Have you tried making separate subtools for the droplets then merging them all from the Subtool panel? You can turn off the visibility of the bottle by clicking the Eye icon then hit Merge Visible. For instance, spheres deformed with Move would work well. There is a way to make separate materials for the subtools though since my question wasn’t answered, I can’t help you with that yet.
Thank you, I had thought of that, but I think it needs to be one piece (without intersecting shapes) since it will be glass and I may have trouble deforming the individual pieces to appear like droplets, but I might try it. It’s just been hard to get that crisp edge that droplets have against the surface they are laying on- I may need some sort of custom brush?
Thank you all for your advice which I’ll try- I modeled and rendered the bottle in Maya and here’s how it looks so far- I’ve just used the MIA glass shader and need to get a few realistic water droplets onto it
