Risk Boardgame Miniatures (Work in Progress Fan Project

Hey all!

Here some work in progress pics of a fan project I m doing since a while, I m remaking the miniatures for the risk europe board game (its non-commercial, although If someone happen to have a 3d Printerfarm lets talk for another project like that! ).

I sculpted a lot of miniatures for boardgames I never got really passed the classic risk games, I m not a big gamer. But with some friends we play pretty much every week different versions of risk (risk europe, risk legacy and risk 2210) and I loved exploring some things in miniatures that I wouldn t be able to do till now on commercial projects.

So there you go, everything printed at 50microns layer thickness (I think its 42 on xy) with solusart grey on my solus 3d printer, I did the supports in Zbrush as well, if someone is interested I can do a little tutorial. The models are printed whole, no assembling afterwards and cleanup takes 10seconds per model as supports are made to be easy removeable.

I even dusted off my old airbrush for some test colours. Let me know what you think, any comments and critics more then welcome!

Cheers,
Edgar

Wow, that looks really good man! Not much of a board game player myself, but I’ve always liked miniatures, and these are really good! Level of detail is amazing (but I guess that is a benefit of using a resin printer, and you have quite a good one apparently!)

Must be great to be playing risk with these! Post a picture of a game in progress with these some time

Thanks for your comment!

Yeah, will post definitely post the final board when we will have our first game - Still need to paint all the factions and sculpt some coins, but we are not far off. Got also a friend who I commissioned an illustrated map with a style that should fit the miniatures and their paintscheme.

Did not realize how small these 3D printed sculpts are until I saw your images with the 50 cent euro coin and the match, and then I read your post :joy:
Can’t wait t see the finished board game. The miniature prints look stunning as well as the painted test. Well done!

Gorgeous sculpts, especially that castle and those ships. Here’s the obligatory -what 3d printer are you using question.

Thanks Jaime! :slight_smile:j

Haha, I knew this question was coming so I wrote the answer in my first post - it s the solus 3d printer using their new solusart grey resin - it s brilliant!

Edgar, I love these!!

My childish half jumps up and down while looking at these :joy:
