Redoing mouth, eye’s, nose and ears topology ?

I need help!

Lately iv been using the great topology tools in ZBrush however I keep coming across the same problem, that is how do I keep a good edge flow structure whilst still allowing my original mesh to be projected on to the new mesh when entering the inside of the mouth, eyes and ears.

At the moment I tend to retopo up to the edges of the mouth eye’s and the inside of the ear then export the new mesh to another 3D package (Maya/ Blender) and finish the process their.

However this prevents me from using the projection function to its full potential and im sure there must be a better way.

If any one knows of a good video tutorial that shows this part of the retopo process or could explain it, that would help a lot and would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

no one…

oh well it was worth a try

if its becuse i did not explain the problem well enough please tell me and ill try to rephrase it

Here is the trick:

Do your retopo as normal and keep the inner parts for the end.

When you’re ready :

-Desactivate the edit topology button

-Press the “delete mesh” button in the rigging subpalette

Select the original tool that you are retopologizing and mask and hide everything but the inside of the mouth for example.

-Select back your “Zsphere retopo tool” ,go back to the rigging subpalette and press Select Mesh and choose your tool with the inside of the mouth.

-Press Edit topology and witness that your previous retopo work is still there.

-Now you can continue your work from where you left it,
with only the inside of the mouth displayed.

You can repeat this process each time you need it.
It’s very useful when retopologizing complex parts.

Hope that helps a little

cool thanks for the info ill have to try it out
