Here is a ZScript that will show a figure in the making and then proceed to pose that figure. I find that the best way to create a figure for posing is to turn on the X and Y symmetry then create the figure in a generic stance. Don’t worry about posing the limbs…just concentrate on getting the proportions and sizes correct. Then after you have created the ZSphere character save it. You can then duplicate the tool and begin to pose it out of symmetry. I use the ROTATE command for this 95% of the time. The reason is that the MOVE command will cause the propotions to be lengthened and that is something you don’t want. I use ROTATE and simply rotate each “bone” into the correct position. It is a very natural and easy way of posing a figure. From time to time I may find I need to use the move tool but I try to avoid that if possible. It is important to save the original symmetrical figure so you can use it for future poses. Once out of symmetry there is virtually no way of going back. I hope you find this tidbit useful.
