Hello there;
i got a problem, and its i need to have a head model only in one polygroup (see image attached) because in maya when i export it in there the vertices wont merge and im going crazy totally. I need that head to be anymated and so have a displacement map, nothing wont work, if i smooth it within maya i see the seams. someone can explain to me how to do that if its possible to merge those polygroups and make it into one mesh before explorting it into maya???
Hi, to assign just one Polygroup to the entire model simple press Tool > Polygroups > Group Visible. But you will probably want to change your export settings instead.
Disable Tool > Export > Grp (Export Sub Groups) before exporting to Maya. You might also need to enable Tool > Export > Mrg (Merge UV Coords).
The OBJ Import settings in Maya might also have an effect. Generally it is advisable to set ‘Create Multiple Objects’ to false when working back and forth between Maya and ZBrush.
ohhh ahhh thanks so much tv eyes i never expected to be that easy. thanks a million!
Of course, another way to make it entirely one group is to have the entire mesh visible and press Tool>Polygroups>Group Visible
