Pivot Point Issue When Making A TurnTable

Hi everyone!

I’m trying to make a Turntable in ZBrush but when I start the process my model spins around the wrong pivot point so the model gets completely off the screen at one point making the turntable useless.
I’ve been looking for an answer everywhere but aparently there’s no solution.
I know this problem it’s been here for a while but maybe someone found a solution or a plugin.

Cheers!

move the object.

If you go to tool>display the crosshair is where the center point of that object actually is.

you can do a couple of things to move it to where you need it. You can…
A. create a new object (a box or something) and append all of the objects to that new tool. The center point will be the box. You will probably need to move things to match it’s location.

B. you can drop the model to the canvas (exit edit) go into move. And move the object closer to the center rotation point.

C. Unify all of the object in the scene. If you have more than once object use traspose master to create a “whole” mesh then apply the unify to that object before applying the changes to the traspose mesh.

Hope that helps.

Hi Silkcats,

You can change the pivot point of your model using Transpose Master:

  1. Create the combined mesh using TM.

  2. Set the pivot point to what you want either by repositioning it in the Tool>Preview pane and storing or using the Tool>Deformation>Offset slider. You can check the rotation by either switching to the Rotate gyro (turn off Edit, turn on Rotate) or by creating a quick turntable.

  3. When you’re happy transfer back into your multi-subtool model using TM.

OMG! MARCUS! IWANNA HUMP YOUR LEG! I have been trying to figure this out for 2 months. I even exported and reprojected my tools and adjusted the pivots in Maya.
The deformations/ offset method worked. Although it too some playing to get it right.

Thanks for the tip always did this wrong.
