Pepakura Designer

I found this neat little program while browsing around.

You can import your 3d meshes into this program and the program can convert them into paper cut-out model plans that you can then print out and build.

There’s a shareware version you can download so you can try it out.

The page is in English so you can just cancel the dialog box that pops up if you don’t have the Japanese language pack installed in your browser.

This is a great program!!! Make your 3d models REAL models!!! This gives a new sence to low poly!!!

I´ve tried it out but I found some problems with flaps that go over others in the developement…any sugestions on that?

Thanks a lot!!

yes, very interesting.
If something like that caught on, I could just goto Kinkos with my low-poly model and come back with a stiff paper 3d version, and place them all on a shelf.

Thank you Wingedone…very good.
I have some 3Dthings to do…

Very cool. Staying on a similar vein, Yamaha do some very nice paper models to printout & create. Animals & motorbikes mostly.

Of course if you’re feeling really lazy you could build a robot to do it for you. Oh, someone has!
