Old Man

I did this one a short while back but it has seemed to gain a little interest.
Modeled in c4d, detail in zbrush, textured in body paint, photo shop and zbrush, rendered in AR by C4D.

Thought I better share with the zbrush guys too.

really good sculp matasorapit,

only the SSS shader seems to be tweaked a little, the ear on the left of the image looks too transparent and too bright…

did you photoshop the fur on his chin and neck or is it part of the texture?

the concept was just to get back into organic modeling and this work was a speed modeling play around. Unfortunately the image got me more recognition than most of my others.

The sss was playing around with C4Ds built in sss. Something too many people complain about but I have been playing with it. My latest work has got it down alot better.

The hair is from C4Ds hair modual.

No photoshop on the actual image other than the maps.

The subtle work is great, reminds me of a Elmer Fudd done in a realistic style.
Probably just the hat and overall shape.:+1:

I was just going to say - reminds me a lot of Elmer Fudd, looks good. I’d look at the glasses though - the glass itself seems a tad too blurred, maybe add some (more?) caustics into the lens itself to add to a bit more believable warping of the area behind it.

I love scattered renders, i wish it was MORE translucent!

Nice SSS

Great humorous picture. I’d personally make the tip of his nose a bit redder for added comic effect. I’d probably work a bit on the hat material/texture.

Still it’s your work and it’s great!

Hey, nice sculpt and render. Can you tell us more about the shader you used in C4D? Thanks!

Thanks guys and Hi Baz

The shader on this was pretty simple. The only real bitmaps were the displacement map from zbrush and a quick sss mask. I could have done a vertex map for the sss but was in a rush near the end.

Skin was a mix of colors and noise multiplyed overtop.
Specular was dead simple.
sss was C4ds standard just with tweeked colors and depth.
Displacment was zbrush, displacment used as bump to enhance a little.
I have uploaded an image for you mate.

Hope all is well.

Thanks Damian, I will give it a try with the C4D-sss. Mostly I use the VReel skinshader.

Love the character!!! Great sculpting and texturing - he looks very funny.

Thanks A.Ceylan it was fun to model, pulling faces in the mirror to get expressions going.

Baz, I am playing with another way to get the sss going on my latest work. Playing with the C4D fusion with sss. So far the results have not been too bad. The plugin you use has some great effects for cinema and purchasing it may be on the cards in the future.

Thanks again guys

Damian
