Hey everyone, I’m having a problem getting zBrush to create an accurate normal map. The following is the detail on the model, but for some reason, the normal map comes out as if I have almost no detail on the model at all…and clues?
what do your uvs look like and what rez is your normal map?
The UVs are clean and unwrapped, and I was trying to export a 1024 map.
Everything else on the body worked fine, but for some reason this wont…
would you mind posting a picture of your uvs and you could also try a 2048 or 4096 map. also what presets are you using for zmapper.
Alright, I figured it out; I had the UVs mirrored and I thought it was taking from the side I had added the projection detaion to, but it was taking from the other side. Without having to add the detail to the other side, is there a way to get it to create the map from the side with the detail?
flip your uvs?
Alright, I tried Melody and with the following settings it gives me t normal map that looks like the one you see. I think I have everything set appropriately. If you have a quick solution, please do tell, if not then its not big deal, I’ll just redetail it on the other side.

did you try to flip your uvs and re import them into zbrush, that should work fine.
I’ll give that a shot.
