No scanline rendering in ZB4?

I’ve been using Z-Brush since 2004. One thing I loved about it was being able to watch my renders on screen so I could stop the render as needed and adjust the materials, lighting, etc.

Now when I run Z-Brush 4 my renders aren’t interactive. I press Best Render and the screen freezes and all I see is the orange bar at top progress to the right. When it hits the right side of the screen, the image is displayed then.

Is there a way to make Z-Brush 4 render in visual scanline mode like it used to?

Thanks,

Dickie

Best Render shows the scanline.

Best Preview Render does not.

BPR is a completely different renderer. It’s designed for working with models in Edit mode while the regular Best render can render pixols/documents.

Incidentally, it can also be combined with Best Render. Do a Best render first, then immediately do BPR. (This can, however, only be done with an object in Edit mode.

unfortunately you cannot render out timeline animations using both best render then BPR over the top. Or at least I haven’t figured it out, it only seems to render BPR in the movie when I try it

Thanks for the info, Aurick. It seems to be working now. Every once in a while it does the behavior I mentioned in the first post. I wonder if it is my graphic drivers. If it acts up again, I’ll post.

Thanks again,

Dickie
