No save file after crashing?

I am usually very good about using my quick save hotkey periodically to cover my self, but today I put in a good 2-3 hours of work without quick saving and experienced a crash. The prompt tells you to that the file should be able to be found in the quicksave folder, but I don’t see anything from todays date. Is there some other hidden folder I might be not seeing?

Hello @ndsugi ,

Please note that the message states that ZBrush will attempt to write a file as a last resort, but this won’t be possible for every type of crash or system event. In most cases though ZBrush will write a file or a number of files to the Quicksave folder with the prefix “Recovered_”. If the process was successful you should be able to find the files in the Lightbox Quicksave folder. Be sure to scroll all the way to the right to see all the files.

If no files were generated then the event was such that this wasn’t possible. However, unless you disabled the auto-save feature you should still have a series of periodic auto save files at regular intervals. This should minimize lost work even if you weren’t manually backing up your file or quicksaving.

thanks, i was just desperate to recover some particularly tedious work i had done, but it was unfortunately lost. I started over again. I should indeed just change the autosave interval back down to something smaller again.
