my first hard surface

hey hey guys,
i am just in the middle of doing my first hard surface model . let me know what you think.

started with zspheres then retopo in maya and rendered in MR. still working on this so its not finished.

i am having problems with transpose its difficult to get nice deformations and i never remember which one of the three circles to use.funky_robot_finalweb.jpg

disco bot! I dig it. Very clean model. Austin Powers meets Pixar.

just a small update… still a bit to do. thanks for lookingglitterrobo.jpg

I’m liking this! The sculpt looks a tad weak in some areas (mainly the forearms, hands, fingers) but you said you’re still working so I won’t judge too critically. The concept is definitely interesting though! Anything to spark some imagination or at least a thought or idea is a good enough start. Keep going! :+1:

hi guys just another small update. just trying to find the time to finish this one…

thanks for loooking…robot_screen_1_update.jpg

heres another one as i didnt like the previous one… think its time to move on …
thanks for all you comments…fin_robo_smaller.jpg

I like that last render, bright and fun.

:+1: :+1:

I agree with Eric - the last is best. The previous was looking too dingy for the 60’s era theme.

Last render was a major improvement

Excellent model, Like the concept very much. Looks very clean, thats my style

Would only change the opacity of his face, It would be fine without seeing whats inside in my opinion.
Keep the good work!

hi there guys ,
