Monster

Hi everyone. This is the first time for me posting here. Actually I never really posted my stuff anywhere. So it’s a real first for me and I am quite excited. Naturally, I am hoping for some constructive critique.
I am still getting used to zBrush, hence the lack of clothing tools etc… Organic modeling has always been the main focus of my interest. Therefore this “Monster” adaptation of mine.
About the model: Base Mesh was built in Maya and after the sculpting process was done, touch ups where made in Photoshop. About the emotion: I wanted to create something intense. Something that portraits
tension and power. I hope it works by looking at it. Again, I’d be more then happy to get some feedback on this. Thanks!

as mentioned I am new to this;)…let’s try again…

the hands are awesome/perfect!

the other views i think it feels disproportionate, squished in some areas and overly bloated other areas (like the shoulders and belly) or pushed/pulled a bit too much (like some areas of the head…specifically around the jaw and forehead area). this is just a suggestion but i think it might look more menacing if the torso were pulled back a bit and tapered down looking more hungry rather than full…maybe with an arc of the back to emphasize an intimidating lunge. overall, i think it’s obvious you’ve got some skills and i’m looking forward to seeing more of your work.

skinnybonez: Thanks for the Input! I agree. the shoulder is a bit bloated. And I guess the line of action of the body as a whole, doesn’t read as well as it should. The original idea was that the creature should be squeezing itself together due to the roar or scream. In any case, I agree with your pointers. And thanks for the compliments about the hands. Hands are never finished;)…
