Mech Drone 04

Hey dude, first congratulations with this amazing piece of art, and the top row, wohooo.

And the technical one, what level of subd you got in this big guy, I think its quite really heavily subdivided, so a lots of polygons must be on this guy, thanks for the info, and please share your techniques…

Mike i would really like to know when you might be having that book out. i think it might be good for my students to look into. is there a date on it?

brilliant design and sculpt.
very inspirational

thanks for sharing!

cheers

Keep the feet. I totally dig the eva, walmart shoes. Must keep.

Very Cool! I’m always in awe when I see armor in Zbrush.

Hey that’s cool! What’s that sentence the lady had to say to the robot on “The Day The Earth Stood Still”- Clak-too…something.

Wow Amazing!
Would really be interested in seeing the technique behind this great artwork!

hey mike excellent work on the model …

the book that you refered to … is it this one here ???

@TurboJoys - the book he is referring to is a book called ZEN of ZBrush that I am publishing in conjunction with Pixologic. The book has tutorials showing the latest features in ZBrush 3.5. Vitaly Bulgarov, Mike Jensen and Vik Sorensangbam are the artists writing tutorials for the book. The book will also feature an invited artist gallery which I am still working on.

The book will also have a cd with the video tutorials and image gallery.

The book should be finished sometime in the next 6 weeks then available on amazon.com a few weeks later.

This is really awesome. That fact that this was created purely in ZBrush blows my mind. Gone are the days of bumpy greasy alien sculptures.

What I really like is that you can’t spot the brush strokes. With a lot of zbrush sculptures you can see what brushes were used, but this looks smooth and sleek.

Nice!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Any ideas of when this book/DVD will be released? Please

This is truly amazing… I HAVE to learn this, since it’s one of the things that got me into Zbrush…

How do you get those hard edges and smoothnes man? I’m still trying to figure it out, but it drives me nuts! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure those techniques on hard body sculpting would be invaluable. Please keep us posted when the book or video tutorial comes out.

I usually ask for the specs of the machines that use artists here, you could tell us what machine your using? thanks

beautiful excellent work model

I think it’s all about the number of subdivisions… So perhaps you need a quite powerful computer for this…

would you mind giving a little demo on how your getting your edges, shells, and seems. i would like to know how to get that look.

I love the design, the hard edge looks amazing! I would love to find out how you did it all so well, keep me(us) updated on this tutorial/book.

Once again great work!

Any good news about the Zen Book/DVD yet? please

Wonderfull!!!
It is really original to be an evangelion based character. The detail on his armor it is completely restyled.
I like very much the hard edges. How many millions of polygons have you used for this one?
Fantastic character. Congratulations!!
