Matchmaker question

Hello everyone. I can use MatchMaker brush to set this text on the outside of a ring but how can I get Matchmaker to recognize the inside surface of the ring? I tried hiding half of the ring but Matchmaker still only recognizes the outside surface of this subtool.

Is there a way I can “trick” matchmaker into seeing the inside curved surface of the ring as the surface it needs to curve my letters to? I have the inside surface as a polygroup, but I don’t think Matchmaker brush will believe that inside surface is the “front”, right?

Thank you but I was shown a better method.

Create 3d Text with 4r8 plugin, then use Gizmo “Bend Arc” mode to perfectly control the radius and the arc and you can bend the text exactly as you want.
