Marble sculpture based on actress Kristen Bell

thumb.jpg

Hi,

I tried to create the look of photographs showing some contemporary sculptures in a museum/gallery environment.

The main marble sculpture is based on actress Kristen Bell.

I modelled the characters in zbrush and rigged them in 3dsmax.
The images were created in 3dsmax and rendered using finalrender.

Every comment and criticism are welcome.

Thanks

Best Regards,
Steve Weber

Really nice, i like it

Wow, very nice job man - I probably would have never guessed they were CG if I just saw them elsewhere.

Great job with the renders. Keep it up!

Wow, great render. Looks very convincing. the mix of sharp and soft edge shadows is really cool. gives it the look of near and far light sources really nice.

Hi Steve!

Awesome renders, great sculpts! Looks like shots taken of real life pieces.
That’s five stars.

Wow, what a wonderful model…I particularly like the render…so real  :+1: :+1:

Wow. Great likeness. Great renders. Nothing else to say I’m afraid. Would you please show your light setup? I love the lighting. Good job :+1:

I love this man. The sculpt is simple but believeable because of its asymetry. And i literally had to read your text to know for sure that it wasn’t photos, great render! :+1: :+1: :+1:

Great renderings and models!

Really nice sculpt and render.

The sculpt is awesome, but just as great is the material / render, it looks so real and physical like it’s really there!
Well done! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

I really dig the render though it doesn’t look like marble, more like a very polished cast :+1: Not quite keen on her upper eyelids though, the way they cover the lower lid is not quite right, still that’s me being picky

Thanks everyone for all those comments.

brettSinclair: I based the lightsetup on light designs for museum/gallery rooms: some lights placed to illuminate the room and some spotlights on the sculptures.

Intervain: You are right about the upper eyelidds  , they could take some more work. Is it in your opinion only the curve from the nose towards the ears where the uper eyelidd covers the lower one and the missing bulge of the eyeball or something more ?
About the marble looking like a very polished cast : I tried to create an unweathered polished marble surface like for example on Michelangelo’s Pieta.

Hey Steve - yeah that’s precisely what I meant  About the marble - I figured so but the spec still felt a bit too uniform and high in places but I might be wrong  Cheers!

The likeness is great. Really lilke this one.
