Making Specular maps and other maps in zbrush2022?

Hello,

because i love zbrush so much, i want to make everything in zbrush, even all the maps.

What maps im looking for a character:

1.) Diffuse/Albedo (painting in zbrush, no problem, its so much fun)

2.) Specular, Gloss, Cavity (How can i paint that in zbrush?)

I see so many artists draw their maps , but i cant find any good tutorial. And I want to make all maps in zrbush ;-(

For example hossein diba, makes the diffuse in zbrush, but what is with the specular and other maps? Why im thinking, he makes the maps oldschool in photoshop. I mean, where you have an unwrapped head (looks like potatoe) and then paint old school the specular map and the other maps.

I really try to finde the best and fastest solution, to make my maps for my character. Im new in this.

Hello @Loggi ,

The ZBrush renderer does not support this kind of layered image mapping. You can fill a UV’d mesh with white paint, paint dark areas on it in any manner that you wish, and export that texture map to be used as a specular or diffuse map in an external program, but you will not be able to preview the effects of layered image mapping in ZBrush.

Good luck!
