Light placement...............

Guys, I’ve created an object & used Meats Meier’s wire style on it so it has holes all over, how do I place a light inside the object so it sends light out through the holes & into the scene???

I’ve tried to use the light placement thingy in the drop down but it doesn’t seem possible…any ideas???

Cheers Bux

You need to change the light-type to Point light. Then the placement thingy works fine  By dragging the P-Button on the canvas the light-position is set to the x, y and z values under the cursor. You can use the Z-slider to position the light on Z-axis, but here a tip for making things easier: create a new layer and place any suitable object (Sphere3d) inside that object, exactly at the place where you want the light to shine. If you use now the P-Button and drag it onto that temporary object, the light will be placed exactly on the wanted position - also on Z-axis. Just delete the Sphere3d/Layer after that.

EDIT: After posting i realized the top link at “similar threads” on the bottom of every thread: Cameyo already did a very nice tutorial. (great new forum-feature! )
