League of Legends - "3D PRINTED" 29 feet tower

Hello everyone!

Want to share an oldwork! But say that zbrush saved my life haha!
Was invited to sculpt a maquette from scratch (without using the 3D file of the game) the Turret Tower of League of legends. Was very challanging because there was so many details and the sculpture needs to be just like the game one.
So I did it, after the model was made, the sculpture would need to be made by hand on the proportions

This momente is when Zbrush start to save me, and give me the opportunity to be creative.
I found a place here in Brazil that has a CNC machine the size of 3X3 meters, and I propose for RIOTGAMES Brazil to make it from this kind of process instead of sculpting by hand, that would be a wast of time re-sculpt it and maybe lose some of the proportions of the original sculpture.
So we did it

The sculpture was divided in 230 peaces for being milling on hard foam.
Then the team of Mchecon glued all togheter and painted.
I made the suppervision and used the maquette as a guide for painting and refining the details that the CNC doesn´t get it on the print.
Hope you like.
Thanks Zbrush

Yes man !!
It was crazy … I had to make a manual for the assembly process. Haha

Cool that you like it @Jaime
Was a very crazy approach … there wasn’t Live boolean at the time.
To cut the pieces and make it fit on the printer plate was insane. haha
But thanks to zbrush way of thinking hahaha… I made the best choice by doing it digitaly…
Other wise I pretty sure that the silhouette and the forms would be changed too much on the enlargment process.
