Jewelry

Hello all

I’m new to this forum and I’m looking forward to begin using ZBrush and to benefit from your collective wisdom and synergy. I’ve been lurking here for a while and I must say a lot of the work you guys do is amazing.

I was wondering, has anyone tried to use ZBrush for jewelry creation? If so, I would love to see some of that. I believe zspheres have a great potential for making jewelry to export to other programs where one can prepare it for rapid prototyping.

Thanks for any insights

Sure.

Here’s a challenge that was recently done on the subject, and another piece that I created a while back.

Hello and welcome! If you go to the gallery that Aurick has noted in his post, you will see 3 of my jewellery pieces. I am particularly fond of creating jewellry myself, and I find Zbrush an amazing program to work with for this. Although I am certainly not an expert at Zbrush, I have learned a few tricks etc. So if I can be of any help to you, please just ask.

A ring done using ZSpheres…

Very well done SC! Nice to see a post from you again! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

STONECUTTER!!! I MISSED YOUR POSTS MAN!!!
Welcome back and what a nice return work!

StoneCutter:

Great design, and a great gold material you have there. :+1:

Would you tell us how you created that material? Thanks!

One just for you Mr. Houdini…(And to respond to the original question regarding Jewllery production in ZBrush…)

Sorry Jaycephus…I missed your question first time around…
The material was designed in the LightWave Material Editor…I use ZBrush for the beginning of the modelling, because it produces a quick mesh, but I prefer to design materials in LW…I can ‘stack’ 250 layers into one material if I want to…Just a workflow preference.

Wow… Thanks Mr.SC!!
I really like it. If you give permission I´ll name it the 21st century version of the Eye of Ra.

Well H, it already has a title…It’s called ‘Stabbed With A Glance’, but you can call it anything you want…

You did it, you name it.

That’s great work, thanks Stonecutter and aurick. The work in the gallery is really cool too.

Here’s another jewellery making idea Feldrave…This is a ‘letter T’, done in a fancy font, two copies, one rotated and placed against the others’ base. This is then taken into ZBrush, ‘Alpha Skinned’, and that produces this ‘link’ which I am using to make a necklace for a series I’m doing of ‘Surrealistic Jewels’, one of which I posted here…I hope it stimulates some experimentation…

wow SC!! Those are really beautiful! Glad to see you post! Hugs!

Well done Michael! I like that link!

For the interested parties, here’s the basis for the link…

Nice to see you again Mike!

Some pretty nifty stuff there. :+1:

I think that “T” link is pretty cool, too.

thanks sc…
