Jessica Rabbit by Piedro

Hi everyone.

Today I’ll share with you the process I took to create my last piece: a reinterpretation of a Doxy’s draw about Jessica Rabbit. Hope you like it and find it useful. Any C&C are totally welcome.

First of all this is the draw I started from:

All credits of this image are for Doxy.

My first step was scrapt out the silhoutte of this lad. Basically I decided to started from a semi-posed base in order to get the exact anatomy Doxy gave her.

(Yes… I know it’s creepy)

Then I hit this:

After a lot of “push and pull” I remembered something useful called “Anatomy” and gave the whole piece a second air in order to gave it a human look and not trying to reach the exact volume of the illustration. After this step everything became smooth and easy.

The next step was polypainting, add the dress, sculpt details on hair and gloves et Voilá!

I realized I missed an opening on her dress so I worked on it.

In order to pose the piece I used Transpose Master without the hair so it didn’t obstruct me visually, and yet there was also another reason. I sculped all the hair’s detail before started to pose, so in this way I managed to protect it from unexpected deformations that would result in lots of time to rebuild.

I used the Keyshot bridge inside Zbrush and take out some render passes, and just after that took all of them to Photoshop to compose the final piece. Here the passes I made:

Here a step I went through just before finishing the piece.

After some tweeks and experimentation, I ended up with this beautil lad:

As an extra, here an experiment I did with a rim light. I just loved the energy she expells.

This came out really cool! Love it. :+1:

Thanks Dragon!
