Well I try to remember to let people know about the movies as I see them (which is more often this season with all the gutsy stuff coming out).
This time I just walked in the door from seeing Jeepers Creepers II with my two kids. It is rated R, but that has to be for what little bit of gore they show,which unfortunately wasn’t much. No sex at all.
Overall for a sequel, in my opinion, it was better than the first movie. It’s a great popcorn movie with a few laughs and some excellant flying cgi stuff for the Creeper.
I won’t give any spoilers about it, as I would hate to ruin it for you. I would tell you that it has a few good spooky moments in it for sure. I didn’t feel cheated when I left the theater. The creature aka The Creeper is pretty ultra kewlies imho also.
The matinee theater only had a few people in it viewing during the time we went, but everyone seemed pretty happy to have went.
They show alot more of the Creeper in this one also, which is a good thing.
I don’t foresee this movie making a huge amount at the theaters due to the efforts of the first film. That is sad too…It’s like The Blair Witch Project and BWP II in reverse.
I forecast that this film will do excellently on video and pay per views though.
My largest gripes was that there weren’t enough kills and not enough splatter on the screen.
I give the movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.
The good news is that on Halloween, they are rereleasing the director’s cut of the original Alien movie. I was not old enough to get in to see that when it first came out at the theaters. So this will be a true treat…and though I have seen the movie a gazillion times, when the previews came up on the screen, goose bumps popped out all over my arms. So look forward to that one.
The only other little movie that came out and I believe will be a cult classic like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses. I still recommend this B flick for the cult fans out there. A grim goody. Hopefullly they will release an uncut edition of that film.
