When I drag out a imm primitive if I drag the opposite way to make smaller it changes the shape as in it goes flat or stretches etc. Is there a setting so that it doesn’t do this? I’ve tried holding shift control or alt but none of those keys seem to do what I want.
IMM brushes don’t work that way. You drag the mesh out and let go of your mouse button or lift your pen. Then you can use Move (W), Scale (E) or Rotate (R) or the Gizmo 3D to transform it.
Hi @platypuss ,
ZBer2 is right–you can use Gizmo to edit the IM afer drawing it out. However what you’re experiencing is deliberate. Drawing out an IM is actually a 2 step process if you aren’t holding down Ctrl to constrain the size. The first motion controls the depth or length of the IM, and reversing the direction adjusts the thickness. So if you were drawing out a cylinder you would first draw it out to the intended length, then reverse direction when you get there to control the thickness.
To draw out your meshes with constrained proportions, hold down Ctrl. Further information about how to control the IM brushes can be found below:
