Ice hockey goalkeeper

Hi everyone,

The first idea behind this picture was to create a “futuristic” ice hockey goalkeeper. But as soon as I sculpted the base of the model I simply went for “70s goalie design”. The main goal was to end up with render which doesn`t have that “3d” modelled look.

The model was sculpted, polypainted , rendered in Zbrush and composited in Photoshop.

Any feedback is more than welcome. Thanks

Amazing Martin!!! great sculpt and render!!!:+1:

Really nice ‘‘almost’’ Ken Dryden I did one many years ago! I also did a Jacques Plante model!

Goalie gear is really cool to model! nice job

Here comes Bobby Orr! He shoots, he scores!
You said, “the main goal was to end up with (a) render that doesn’t have that 3D modeled look.” Was that an intentional pun, or not, ya hockey puck? (mine was intentional, by the way.)
Anyway, you reached your goal in creating a “70’s goalie design.” Nice detail work! I especially love the goalie pads! Would love to see the untextured model, too. :+1:

Really Nice man! :+1: excellent

good render, nice texturing. please could you upload img with only simple shader on it without texture ?

Love it!

Great wear and tear to the pads and Koho stick.

Hi guys, I`m glad that you like it:) Here is the untextured model. For sure there is still room to improve it

Great attention to detail Martin. Awesome work. Keep it up.

Love it!

I was wondering if you would be interested in selling digital downloads of some of your hockey model (.stl file) to allow people to 3D Print figurines. It would mean creating a pre-posed file that is exported for 3D Printing.

I have started a site called 3DPrint.toys where I am sellign my own 3D Sports Prints and your stuff would be a great addition.

I am offering 70% royalties. Much better royalties than any other site out there.

Thanks

Paul
